Steven Pressfield Interview (from 2007)
I just re-released an interview from 2007 with Steven Pressfield on the Accidental Creative podcast. Steven is the author of many books, including [amazon_link id=”1936891026″ target=”_blank” ]The War Of Art[/amazon_link], which I consider the working manual for creative pros.
In the interview Steven reminds us:
– Professionals show up every day, even when they don’t feel like it. Amateurs work only when they are inspired.
– Work in serial format. Always have something you’re working on. (That’s why I’ve “chain written” three books now.)
– Art is a kind of war. You have to confront the enemy of Resistance every day in order to get started, and to maintain progress.
– The payoff for your labor may be far off, but you have to keep moving forward. (It took Steven 17 years to make his first dollar as a writer.)
This is just a sampling of the wisdom bombs that Steven drops in the interview.
